Watch This Episode of MwahTV About How to create a profitable personal brand on social media
How to create a profitable personal brand on social media? In this episode, I share the steps to follow to create a profitable personal brand on social media. How I keep things personal on my social media feeds with my personal brand. And I share how this has made my business more profitable as a result. If you’ve been feeling a bit cautious about doing this for yourself, then by the end of this episode you will see exactly how I do it to give you some "inspo" and ideas.
Maintaining all of these platforms was a tonne of work. And I couldn’t justify getting serious about my YouTube Channel because I just didn’t have the time.
So I juggled things by de-prioritizing most social platforms. I wanted to give 90% of my focus to Instagram.
Pick A Priority & Then Stick To It
YouTube is not technically a social media platform. Instead for me, it sits above this as it’s where I put my primary content out. This just means content that I’ve created in my own right.
Now everything flows in a re-purposed way in this downward pyramid motion from my primary content which is Mwah TV.
I moved all of my regular social chatting time to Instagram. I now have 30mins in the morning to respond to inbound notifications and DM’s and then another 30mins for outreach at the end of the day. All of my other socials get cleared on a Friday afternoon if I have the time.
Last week on the show I was joined by beautiful cocktail correspondent Natalie Hailey from Hot Content. If you missed this episode you can go back and watch it here, or through the link in the show notes. Natalie mentioned how she is a big advocate of the Andrew & Pete 90:10 rule. Before we get going today, I thought this was worth a quick breakdown.
The more popular term for creating content efficiently is by following the ratio 80:20. This means curating 80% of already existing content and creating 20% of your own content. This makes things so much easier when you are a business owner as well as a content creator.
Natalie's Recommendation
Andrew and Pete came up with a more concentrated version of this. The 90:10 rule. Where you essentially double down on just one platform as a content-creating business owner to build your following, brand and ultimately influence quicker.
Natalie mentioned last week that she had done this and it’s something I have also adopted for my personal brand. Here is how it looks in my business.
Instagram & How To Create A Profitable Personal Brand on Social Media
As Instagram is my most important social media platform, I give most of my creative attention and focus. As I mentioned in this episode a few weeks back about the 5 themes in my personal brand, I ensure that all 5 of these themes are continually running storylines in my business.
Sales campaigns and Calls to Action run secondary to these storylines so that you get more of a feeling of me doing business is baked into my quest and documentation.

Struggling with your Brand Themes?
You might be struggling with getting a handle on what your 5 main branding themes or values are. Without these, it can be a royal pain in the ass to come up with the right creative anchors to use in directing your content creation efforts.
I made this quick template to start organising your thoughts on this.

Profitability
The profitability factor in my business is directly related to creating a personal brand on social media. In the last year, I have increased my following on Instagram. Way more importantly though, my engagement is up by 56% and my reach is up by 70%. With this comes different forms of profitability.
I have a lot more time to work on my business. By creating this time, I have been able to sell retainer clients into my business that fits around my photography work. This has increased my overall business profitability by 120%. The majority of these clients have come to me because they love my approach to Instagram content creation.
Having more time to create Mwah TV content has had a dramatic effect on my web traffic, more people stick around on my site longer and this can be directly correlated to embedded episodes of this show on my site and Instagram referring traffic to me. Because I’m focused and present on Instagram, I am being contacted more to take part in micro-influencer campaigns. So far this year I have accumulated £150 worth of free swag.
