I was a little blue on learning about the step to remove lines from UK stores in the news back in December.
That strong smell always reminds me of Sunday night preschool week prep and getting my first pair of DM`s where I had to solemnly agree to "keep them in good nick" with my parents.

Official brand news comments blamed the intersection of buyer habits and huge lifestyle changes that occurred due to the lockdown (I`m guessing affected retail behaviour and wearing shoes).

But it all got me thinking about all the other nails in the coffin that may have preceded these events.

I firmly believe that all creativity can be split into 2 unmistakable processes y`know.
Yep - that`s a pretty big belief! And trust me when I say with conviction... I mean all kinds of creativity:
🎨 That sculpture freezes a single intense emotion.
🎨 That album you will play over and over and over and never get tired of.
🎨 The movie you think is THE movie to end all films.
🎨 The tailored blazer allows for your slightly larger left boob (without giving your secret away).

PROCESS 1 is about creating with an impetus in mind. This is where you can put most of your typical creative business problems. There is ALWAYS a deadline behind your need to be creative or to innovate to solve a problem.

PROCESS 2 is about being led by more of a quest. For many artists, this quest can never be defeated or actually met. But nevertheless is the driver behind beavering away into the wee hours, sometimes for years on end.
